|
Hydrangea
quercifolia (Oakleaf Hydrangea)
Excellent
choice for woodland-type plantings. The leaf looks like
an oak leaf and has a leathery texture. Several varieties
available including one whose big cones of white flowers
fade to pink. Makes great flower arrangements. Brilliant
red burgundy fall color.

|
|
Chamaecyparis
nootkatensis 'Pendula' (Weeping Alaskan Cedar)
Graceful,
pendulous foliage, soft texture, rich bluegreen color.
|
|
 |
Magnolia
virginiana (Sweetbay Magnolia)
Interesting
plant, great patio tree, fairly light and airy in leaf,
great fragrance in the summer, "neat" seed heads
in the fall.
